Hakihea / December 2015 & Kohi-tātea / January 2016

Kia ora and welcome to our Hakihea and Kohi-tātea update. This month: new funding will strengthen regional queer youth support, and the lesbian web series Potluck is launched. We cover the Auckland Pride Festival and Parade in February and the Wellington Pride Festival and Parade and a major regional Pacific human rights conference in March.

In Auckland there’s Pacific action about West Papua, and self-portraits at the Charlotte Museum.

On our media page you can find out about two new lesbian books, Jamaican out lesbian reggae artist Diana King, who is singing at Raggamuffin in February, some lesbian treats in the 2016 arts festivals in Wellington and Auckland, and an Aphra Behn play.

On our People page read about event organiser and TV floor manager Shirley Allan of Nga Puhi and Te Rarawa, who has just joined the Auckland Pride Festival board. See our Services page for classified ads and businesses, currently free. Email us your Dyke Diary, Social and Support group updates and we’ll put them online as quickly as possible. We welcome comments (at the bottom of every page) and contributions. Thanks!

The next update will be Hui-tanguru / February; and then monthly updates through the year.
