Kia ora and welcome to our Whiringa-ā-rangi update, with a cartoon from Helen Courtney.
A National Rainbow Strategy consultation is underway, and a book about takatapui will be published at a hui this month. Three out lesbians were elected to local bodies in three cities, and a world Rainbow rights conference may be held in Wellington. We cover lesbians and Auckland Pride Festival, crowd-funding for a Wellington play, and the launch of the Q2 Trust in Dunedin, among other items on our News page.
If you enjoy lesbian vampire stories, you’ll love the news of the Carmilla movie. There’s a multicultural art exhibition about queer female sexuality on its way, and a comic anthology of LGBTQ stories. And we review the Feminist Utopia Project on our media page.
And check out Dyke Diary – we update this whenever new events come in. We include women’s and other events of interest to lesbians – send us your suggestions for other local, regional, or national women’s/lesbian events we should be listing.
See our Services page for classified ads, national Rainbow training and accreditation services, and businesses, currently free. Email us your Dyke Diary, Social and Support group updates and we’ll put them online as quickly as possible. We welcome comments (at the bottom of every page) and contributions. Thanks!
