Kia ora and welcome to our Huitānguru update.
We have two significant stories on our People page this month: an obituary of lesbian community stalwart Heather McPherson, and an extended interview with Sonya Apa Temata, most recently publicly active in standing for election to the Auckland District Health Board. Take some time to read about their lives.
We’ve set our News page out with national stories (or those where activity occurs in multiple centres) first, and then regional events and information: North and South Islands are included.
The Media page update this month is focused on summer reading: it’s not too late to pick some more lesbian books to read. We’re always keen to hear your ideas of what we could and should read and watch.
Check out Dyke Diary – we update this whenever new events come in. We include women’s and other events of interest to lesbians – send us your suggestions for other local, regional, or national women’s/lesbian events we should be listing.
And see our Services page for classified ads, national Rainbow training and accreditation services, and businesses, currently free. Email us your Dyke Diary, Social and Support group updates and we’ll put them online as quickly as possible. We welcome comments (at the bottom of every page) and contributions. Thanks!
