Kia ora and welcome to our Maramatoru update. We preview this month’s Wellington Pride and Christchurch Pride, and look back on Auckland Pride. More of the Charlotte Museum’s lesbian collections will go online in 2017, and the Veiqia exhibition, inspired by Fijian female tattooing, returns home. We have news for non-biological lesbian mothers. Watch out for Stella Duffy, a show about lesbians and immigration, and a multimedia art exhibition in Auckland, and try re-reading some Jane Rule. Check out our Photos page for pictures from Pride events.
On our People page is an obituary of lesbian community stalwart Heather McPherson, and an extended interview with nurse and Pacific Rainbow organiser Sonya Apa Temata. And check out Dyke Diary – we update this whenever new events come in. We include women’s and other events of interest to lesbians – send us your suggestions for other local, regional, or national women’s/lesbian events we should be listing.
See our Services page for classified ads, national Rainbow training and accreditation services, and businesses, currently free. Email us your Dyke Diary, Social and Support group updates and we’ll put them online as quickly as possible. We welcome comments (at the bottom of every page) and contributions. Thanks!
