Pipiri / June 2018

Kia ora and welcome to our Pipiri update.

Our national news stories feature lesbians with interesting and varied experience and expertise. Two lesbians are among the experts appointed to the government’s Welfare Expert Advisory Group, and a Christchurch psychiatrist and an Auckland GP are organising the first Australian and New Zealand Lesbian Medical Association conference to be held in New Zealand.

Regionally? The National Rainbow phone support line OUTLine has a new role in their Auckland office, a same-sex dancing pair from Wellington and Auckland are off to the Gay Games in Paris in August, and the Auckland Pride board will have new members after the forthcoming AGM. (Dates are set for 2019, put those in your diary now.)

Our People profile this month is a softballer: read about Okkie as a player and now administrator.

We have a review of The Breaker Upperers, and would love to hear your opinion.

Check out Dyke Diary for events of interest to lesbians and queer women. We update it as we receive information about events – please send us your suggestions (email is good!) of those we should be listing.

Also email us your Social & Support group updates and we’ll put them online as quickly as possible. We welcome comments (at the bottom of every page) and contributions. We also welcome your feedback and suggestions.

Don’t forget to visit our Facebook page – there are more links to stories there, and they don’t always get to the website.

If you prefer to read LNA on paper click on print at the top of our main pages.
