Here-turi-kōkā / August 2018

Kia ora and welcome to our Here-turi-kōkā update.

We start with an international news story this month: the ILGA Oceania conference is in Samoa at the end of the month.

Our national news stories preview, north to south, Hamilton Pride in September (turning 10!), the ILGA World conference in Wellington in March next year, and Queenstown Pride, also September.

Our People profile this month is a conversation with Hamie Munroe of Hamilton’s weekly Rainbow access radio show, the Flat Out Pride hour.

Who is writing about a wild colonial girl? (And who is she?) Go to our Media page to read about what Lorae Parry is up to. We also reflect on the International Film Festival, underway in Auckland and Wellington, just rolling out in the other 11 centres.

Check out Dyke Diary for events of interest to lesbians and queer women. We update it as we receive information about events – please send us your suggestions (email is good!) of those we should be listing.

Also email us your Social & Support group updates and we’ll put them online as quickly as possible. We welcome comments (at the bottom of every page) and contributions. We also welcome your feedback and suggestions.

Don’t forget to visit our Facebook page – there are more links to stories there, and they don’t always get to the website.

If you prefer to read LNA on paper click on print at the top of our main pages.
