Kia ora and welcome to our July update. On our News page is competition for the lesbian-run Gay Ski Week QT by Australian newcomers Gay Ski Week NZ, both in Queenstown from August 29; changes at Auckland’s Pride board; Sarah Waters in Christchurch; the Trans/forming Feminisms conference in Dunedin; Songs and silliness in Auckland, plus the return of the Lesbian Ball. On our People page we interview a queer Harvard genetics professor; and Sophie Stills gives her Opinion on gender verification tests in women’s sport. Kia ora and welcome to our fifth monthly update. Lots of news, people and media stories this month: registration has opened for the 2016 Asia Pacific Outgames in Auckland, we look at women-oriented Matariki events around the country; and a lesbian musical may tour the main centres, plus there are several new Auckland events. In media, we have two perspectives on the wonderful Carol Ann Duffy, and a new queer photography exhibition. On our people page, we profile the successful and expanding events of the Lilac Library in Wellington.

Welcome to issue 4 of our online newsletter, with a cartoon from Jade du Preez.

Lots of news stories this month: the Auckland Council Rainbow Panel has got the go-ahead, and it’s time for the annual Biggest Lesbian coffee break in Auckland. Whanganui has a hui for youth, parents and health workers. A lesbian photography exhibition at Auckland’s Charlotte Museum opens at the end of the month; and there will be a Considering feminisms exhibition and journal  in Wellington later in the year. Vicky Wood is holding a free Healthy relationships workshop for young LGBTTQI people in Auckland at the Human Rights Commission. Friends and fans of The Johnnys and Suzi Fray will want to know about the Give a little campaign for Suzi. The Auckland Pride board has vacancies, it’s the last Michigan Womyn’s Music Festival, and there’ll be no Out Takes Festival this year.

You’ll see a change in the way Dyke Diary looks: we’ve now set it out geographically (north to south), then by month within each region. We think this makes it easier to read and to find events – do let us know what you think, and feel free to make any suggestions for a better way to present it.

Welcome! It’s April and issue 3 of our online newsletter.

We have lots of news about the Charlotte Museum and vulva poppies for Anzac Day; a possible Rainbow Panel for Auckland city; lesbian gigs in the Comedy Festival; free clothes; podcasts of butch women and Wellington queer awards; women’s inequality, research and stories about older lesbians; and News from all over.

Welcome to our second issue! This month we have stories about the new Auckland social group EquAsian, a decolonisation hui for young takatāpui and queer people of colour, an inspiring Pacific women’s political action group, a Dunedin feminist conference, Heroic Gardens as well as more stories on our news page. And if you missed any of last month’s stories, you can see the dropdown link to the February issue on the news menu. This month’s profile is of comic and actor Freya Desmarais with more items on the People page. We also have a new opinion piece, this month on Pride and protest. We welcome your comments on that, or any opinions you’d like to send in.
