Organic Horticulture/Gardening course, Auckland
Eleven Mondays from July 31, 12.30-4pm. An opportunity to get more lesbians gardening: cheaper, healthier and a good mental health improvement from growing your own food and garden.
This course will help you to understand basics of horticulture & edibles – gardening, plant health, planning, improving and implementing your backyard or lifestyle block and learning practical information about permaculture, plant propagation, soil biology, composting, beneficial insects, and in particular our precious honey and bumble bees. The ultimate goal is that you will have your own, individual permaculture plan for your property. You will be enabled to 1. make the important connections between theory and practice, 2. understand your own needs and desires for edibles in your gardens, 3. create your garden within the time, money and lifestyle restraints we all have, 4. connect you with like-minded people and 5. give you opportunities to visit established, beautiful edible-landscaped gardens, “eatscapes” and a backyard apiary.
Course fees are structured to give people in a range of incomes the chance to participate – this fair approach is a win-win situation for all. Contact Ellen, 022 499 2080, Distinct@orcon.net.nz, Facebook.
